Dr. Barış Can YALÇIN

The researcher was born in Izmir/Turkey in 1988, completed his high school education in Izmır Bornova Anatolian High School, took his BSc degree as Honor Student from Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eskisehir Osmangazi University and MSc degree from Mechatronics Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, in 2011, 2014 respectively. During his MSc education, he was interested in control theory and its various fields, such as linear control, adaptive control and estimator and filter design. Through his MSc thesis, he was supervised by Prof. Dr. Haluk Erol, studied on semi-active vibration control by force and acceleration feed-back. His MSc thesis was done in collaboration with VESTEL. After Msc graduation, he jointed YTU Mechatronics Engineering Department's Magnetic Levitation Lab under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadir Erkan, continued studying on control theory during PhD and worked to design a novel SOTA control method to suppress micro-vibrations by using magnetic levitation technology. He worked as research & teaching assistant in Mechatronics Engineering Department at YTU, carried out 'System Dynamics and Control' and 'Microprocessors' undergrad courses, involved in programming "Hardware-in-the-loop" systems, such as dSPACE, National Insturments and Quanser platforms, for real-time motion control. Additionally, during his employment at YTU Mechatronics Engineering Department, he was involved in several wide range of national and international industrial projects including hydraulic and pneumatic mechatronic system design and control in ALARGE research and development company headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Koyun.
